Stephen King Roadwork Book Review

Stephen King Roadwork

Really it was Bachman who wrote this but anyway. Roadwork is the story of this man Barton Dawes who has just lost his son and his wife had divorced him. When he learns that his workplace and house are to be destroyed because of a highway extension he starts to become increasingly mentally unstable. This book was very different from other books king had written, hell, different even from the book "Bachman" wrote! To be honest you think king could do LOTS of things with a plot like this but the book is actually very short, about 275 pages. Sometimes when king keeps his books short they remain focused and is normally very fast paced and done well such as Carrie and The eyes of the dragon but even cutting down the book didn't save it from some parts that just felt like filler. It took me about four days to read but really the best thing about the book has to be the ending. It was just so emotional that it really grasped me at the end. Anyway I would recommend this to king fans who wants to read em all but those casual king fans, people who just want to pick up a book and people who wants to get into king should look elsewhere. Even though I've only read a few Bachman books I can tell this was probably the worst one of them all.

2.5/5

Hope you guys liked this review! Gonna do another one later with a King book I really liked!
